Crimson and Violet

There's so much crimson and violet just before the dawn
Dreaming of places been gone so long
Scarlett illusions always fade away
Into the misty drizzle of a clear blue rainy day

All these colors keep changing
Prism catches light cuts across obscurity
And touches open minds
All these colors are melting
Together in my hand
Like candles dripping silence
On a woman and a man

Until the daylight, starlight sparkles in your eyes
Simple thoughts and visions cut across the sky
The sun the moon the Milky Way 'O sweet serenity
Ever so incredible this precious life we lead

All these colors start drifting
Through my open door, down the railroad tracks
To the land of nevermore
All these colors look like heaven
But I'd rather be long gone
In crimson and violet just before the dawn

All these colors take me astray
The crimson and violet make it O.K.
I love crimson and violet just before the dawn
